Don’t Buy Twitter Inc Stock for This Simple Reason

Twitter can’t defend its business model and investors shouldn’t buy it. The recent earnings surprise at Twitter Inc. (NASDAQ:TWTR) (it almost broke even) generated a quick gain of nearly 25%, as the shares rose from just over $17 per share to nearly $22. By Nov. 1, however, this had already begun to reverse, and as trading opened the stock looked set to open at $20.67. From a technical perspective, the fight is on to hold $20 per share.

But should it?

Since it came public in 2013, at the height of the social media boom, Twitter has never made a profit. Its first trade back then was at about $41 per share, and it now trades at half that. Its peak price of $69 per share, achieved as 2014 opened, now looks as remote as any of the highs achieved during the Internet bubble at the turn of the century.

Twitter says Trump’s account deactivated by employee leaving company

U.S. President Donald Trump’s @realdonaldtrump Twitter account was deactivated by a Twitter Inc employee who was leaving the company on Thursday and was down for 11 minutes before it was restored, the social media company said.

Trump has 41.7 million followers on Twitter and has made extensive use of it to send messages attacking his opponents and promoting his policies, both during the 2016 presidential campaign and since taking office in January.

Today's Trading Lesson

Are Great Traders Made or Born?

Why did you become a trader? Was it the money or love of the challenge? For me it was the challenge.

I believed if I could develop a repeatable system, the money would follow. It wasn’t about the money, it was about creating the “thing” that made the money. Along the way there are many obstacles.

The biggest one? Trying to learn from mistakes, while trying to stay positive, while not losing your capital. I’ll admit there was a lot of “fake it till you make it” going on. But what eventually happens that you “make it?”

First, it was a deep sense of respect for what I didn’t know. For the skills I needed. After the first six months you realize reading charts is easy, making money is hard. It’s different. This is the main obstacle for many of us. We believe technical analysis and being a successful trader are the same skill.

Once you admit they are different, your goals change. Your objective switches from making money, to learning how to preserve capital…

There is a cycle all traders must endure — > read charts, try to make money, learn to not lose money, learn to make money. I have mentored thousands of traders, most never get beyond the second phase. The reason? Ego.

We can’t admit trading is hard work, and that it takes time to succeed. So we continue to expect each trade to make money. This very mindset dooms us from the start. To turn the corner requires patience. A truth you don’t want to hear.

If you can learn to trade, really try to learn, you will move beyond chart reader to tape reader. And that is where the magic happens.

I believe great traders are made. I just gave you the path. Go get em.
