Tesla earnings: Will Model 3 live up to the hype?
Tesla Inc. is scheduled to report second-quarter results after the market close on Wednesday. Wall Street expects another loss for Silicon Valley company, but that is unlikely to matter much. The real burning questions are the ones about the Model 3.
That’s the mass-market sedan at the center of Tesla’s expansion plans, a $35,000 all-electric car the company hopes will smooth its path to becoming a larger car maker. Tesla TSLA, -1.21% delivered the first handful of Model 3 sedans on Friday.

Tech stocks bask in Apple glow, Dow eyeing 22,000
LONDON (Reuters) – Asian technology stocks hit 17-year peaks and Wall Street’s Dow index looked set to break 22,000 points on Wall Street later, as blockbuster earnings from Apple rippled out to component makers globally. Shares in the world’s most valuable company surged 6 percent after-hours to a record of more than $159, taking its market capitalization above $830 billion.

Kraft Heinz earnings: Have revenue estimates fallen enough to be beatable?
History suggests that Kraft Heinz Co. is likely to top profit expectations when it reports second-quarter results on Thursday after the stock market closes, but the real question for investors may be whether sales estimates have fallen enough so the packaged food company can beat them too.
Kraft Chief Operating Officer George Zoghbi responded by saying, “the price competition among retailers is not like something new,” according to a transcript of the call provided by FactSet. “Of course, we’d have to be mindful of the impact on us, particularly the one that we watch for the most is the equity, the impact on the equity of our brands, because we have certain expectation where we position our brands.”
