Most traders want you to give them exactly which stocks to trade. I think that is sad.
How can you learn how to trade without doing the work? We spend a lot of time explaining why a trade is a solid trading idea. It’s because each trader comes to the market with different resources, experience and goals. Trading AAPL is not for everyone but we still need to teach and explain the scenario.
To trade stocks profitably you need to understand the context, not simply whether to be long or short.
To succeed as a trader, you need to ask why it’s a good stock trade. You need to learn how to find those ideas. Trading books, lessons, courses and mentoring are designed to get you to think on your own.
Are you looking to learn how to create your own game plan, or looking for someone to do the work for you?
It’s sad, but most people don’t want to learn how to fish. They want the fish. They want the magic pill to lose weight.
If this is you, get a job with a pension. Trading isn’t for you.

Stock Market Today: Map of the S&P 500
(click the map for a full view)
The SPY held major support at $188. Technically, this should hold and attract value hungry buyers, but, yesterday’s price action in the SPY was actually the first day breakout of a 4 day trading range. This means we should have our eye on the next major support of $183.

Stocks to Trade | Tuesday September 29, 2015
- No shortage of short-sale scenarios today. The only question is are you over-sold or near support to justify the risk.
- JNJ and CYBR closed above the open yesterday.
- CVX and XOM, HD consolidating for a few weeks, keep in your tracking journal for the breakout.
Charts in Focus
Interesting to note the relative strength in CYBR yesterday. Not a long yet, but considering how bearish the stock market was yesterday, it should be in your tracking journal.
