Walmart Is Doing This One Thing That Should Terrify Whole Foods, But Excite Shoppers Everywhere
Walmart (WMT) cut its prices across several major business units last month including grocery, a move surely to send another shockwave to competitors like Kroger (KR) , Whole Foods Market (WFM) and ALDI.
In grocery, Walmart increased the percentage of items on rollback, sale and clearance to 26% in March from 25% in February, 24% in January and the 18% seen in November and December, according to a research report released by BMO Capital Markets on Wednesday.
Double Buy Ratings for Wal-Mart Stock: What You Need to Know
Every day, Wall Street analysts upgrade some stocks, downgrade others, and “initiate coverage” on a few more. But do these analysts even know what they’re talking about? Today, we’re taking one high-profile Wall Street pick and putting it under the microscope…
Up less than 5% in 12 months, shares of retail giant Wal-Mart Stores (NYSE:WMT) have lagged the rest of the S&P 500 by more than 10 percentage points over the past year. But could happy days be here again?
Walmart thinks it has 4 strategic advantages over Amazon
The war between Amazon and Walmart is well known in the world of retail. In order to win over customers, the two retailers have been trying to one-up each other by slashing prices.

Today’s Trading Lesson…
After 20 years of trading, the question kept getting louder and louder.
If today’s trader has access to more technology, more charting solutions and more information than any point in history – why aren’t those advantages translating into more money?
This report examines why the modern trader is underachieving and introduces the obvious solution, found in the least likely of places…
What separates this information is that it’s based on real people. Real people, real money, real traders. Traders just like yourself. The lessons were experienced through my own eyes.
This isn’t a research report. It’s a story. A story about you with an unfinished ending.
Sixteen years of experience gives me a unique insight into why some some traders finally break through to six-figures and more. My career as a proprietary trader, mentor, owning two trading firms in NYC, and my ten years as a trading educator, is now in your hands.
I’ve worked with complete newbies scared to place an order, and those earning a reliable million dollars per year. There’s nothing I haven’t seen or done, and the biggest lesson is that working myself to the bone, wasn’t the answer.
Join me today, and eliminate years of searching for a Holy Grail that doesn’t exist, and see why it isn’t necessary for massive success.
On the Tape Today | 4-10-17
COST Costco Whsl Corp gapped into resistance and followed up with an inside day that closed near the highs. $172 short-term resistance, and shooting star candlestick prevents me from entering a full position until we clear that price level. Game planning a $171 buy stop for a tier one entry (30% of my intended position). Looking to add additional shares on a close above $173. Initial stop loss on a close below $170.
AKAM | Akami Tech game plan calls for a momentum breakdown out of the recent pause. A $57.75 sell stop triggers the sell short with a target to cover @ $54.25. Relative weakness in this stock price compared to both the sector and the general stock market make it an excellent trade in a choppy tape. The only caveat that reduces conviction is the order flow. The trade is a cash flow opportunity because we are trading momentum, order flow consolidated for 7 weeks before the breakdown. If we breakdown and pause into our target. We have established new bearish order flaw and can begin game planning longer -term positions.
Tape Reading the SPY ETF
$SPY price action consolidating into a long-term pennant.
This means your bias shift from directional order flow to game planning a breakout, an expansion in volatility to be more precise. When stock prices consolidate, such as an inside day, we get a unique situation.
Normally our trading ideas center around being long or short. We look for trends in order flow and then a spot to enter. Today is different. Although the long-term bias remains bullish, the smart traders knows to let the stock market “tip it’s hand.” We are looking for larger “fuel candlesticks” that begin a new momentum move, and if we’re lucky, new order flow.
Inside days give us the cleanest setup to trade (which is why we game plan for them every day-see the bottom of the blog post). Larry Williams once said the only two cycles a traders needs to know are expansion and contraction. I don’t know if they are the only two but NOT knowing them certainly puts you in a vulnerable position to get steam-rolled when price breaks out.
Be patient and let price action jump, and stay there (pause) before you enter a new trade. You might miss the first wave of buying or selling, but if the breakout or breakdown is joined by solid volume, you can catch the remainder of the trade without getting chopped up in small losses that don’t follow through.
