JPMorgan Banking on New Highs Ahead of Earnings
JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) the largest of the four “too big to fail” money center banks, reports quarterly earnings before the opening bell on Friday. Analysts expect JPMorgan to report earnings per share (EPS) of $1.71.
This means that the bank’s string of eight consecutive quarters beating EPS estimates is on the line this week. Analysts have cited the benefits to the bank from higher interest rates, but investors should be concerned about trading profits and sluggish loan growth.
JPMorgan Earnings: Best Banks to Buy Beforehand

3 Lies Bitcoin Skeptics Tell Themselves
Whether they’re claiming Ripple is a fork of Bitcoin or GPUs are still useful for mining bitcoin, so-called “experts” are responsible for a lot of misinformation regarding this new technology in the mainstream press.
This is possibly due to many of the people quoted in various media outlets specializing in more general areas of study rather than just Bitcoin itself.
Bitcoin skeptics have been proven wrong more than 200 times when it comes to predicting the death of the digital bearer asset. Here are three of the lies these critics tell themselves, which are at the root of these false predictions.
Today's Trade of the Day | 1-12-18
Stock market momentum has reached "over-bought" levels. I hate to use that term because it implies I am calling a top. But it applies today. If I'm not calling a top, what does that mean? It means the odds for continuation decreases with each new close on the high, and close above the open.
It means to place a trailing stop on your profits because the odds of profit-taking are strong. It DOES NOT mean to sell short. Continue to ride the long for all it's worth.
Bank earnings could give one more push higher, or create a perfect reason to sell. Don't focus on the reasons, focus on managing your profits.
Today's trade in EA Electronic Arts is one of the few stocks consolidating the previous 2 days. We call this an "inside-inside day." Look for an expansion in volatility for the next couple of days. Not calling a long or short here. This strategy does not call direction, it calls a move in momentum.
