Grubhub Soars On New Yum Brands Deal, Quarterly Earnings Beat
Grubhub (GRUB) shares skyrocketed Thursday after it announced a new partnership with fast-food behemoth Yum Brands (YUM) — the parent of Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut — and reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings.
Grubhub shares soared by 27.4% to close at 89.04 on the stock market today, blasting above its 50-day moving average. Already the leading provider of online ordering and food delivery services, Grubhub now will be the exclusive online delivery partner for Yum Brands’ Taco Bell and KFC under their deal.
Grubhub Serves Up Another Four-Star Quarter
Grubhub (NYSE:GRUB) already had plenty to celebrate coming into its fourth-quarter report.
The stock jumped 91% last year, by far its best performance since going public in 2014 as the restaurant takeout marketplace made savvy moves like forming a strategic partnership with Yelp and acquiring Eat24 from the review platform as well as making other smaller acquisitions.
Over the year, the company also delivered strong revenue and profit growth as it gained scale, leveraged its new delivery business, and defended itself against threats from the likes of Amazon.com and Uber.
A Safe Way to Trade Increased Volatility
There is s very low risk, conservative way to trade this massive change in volatility. It’s a short term signal most trades ignore, but it’s a powerful one.
It doesn’t matter if you’re day trading, swing trading or position trading. It’s the indicator “change from the open.”
This is different from the normal net change most of us use. Net change is the change from the previous close.
Change from the open is the last price compared to the open of the current candlestick you are watching. It is the most recent order flow. The most recent buying and selling pressure.
So the the most recent price action, if your favorite stock was in long-term bullish order flow, but trading below the open on the daily chart, you would not look to buy until “change from the open” turn positive.
When combined with net change, you have a powerful, simple system.
You can use it on any time frame candlestick. Give it a try. You’ll be surprised how effective it is.

Is It Too Late To Make Your Fortune In Cryptocurrency ICOs?
We’ve all heard it a hundred times: if you bought one Bitcoin for yourself for a December 2012 Christmas present, thinking, “Why not, the Mayan calendar ends and we are all going to die,” you would have forked over a meaningless $13.
And for that measly $13, your single Bitcoin would be worth around $8,000 today. That’s just Bitcoin. What about all these other cryptocurrencies? How rich would you be today if you sunk $10,000 in one of these start-ups issuing new digital coins out of nowhere?
There are literally hundreds of them. Coinmarketcap lists 1,510 to be exact. Most are tied to new tech start-ups issuing their own coins.
TWTR Twitter Inc exploded after earnings and traded into a key moving average. Expecting the stock market to bounce and the stock price of witter to follow. Game planning a new swing trade long with a $30.75 buy stop to trigger the entry. Initial profit target comes in at $34.50. Stop loss on a close below $30.60.
