Why Is Goldman Sachs (GS) Stock Falling Today?
Shares of Goldman Sachs (GS – Analyst Report) have dropped about 4.4% today following news that the company’s Asia unit was publicly censured by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
The censure was issued in response to the bank’s conduct between November 2013 and July 2014 while it was serving as a financial adviser to Wing Hang Bank. The SFC said in a statement that Goldman Sachs traded 11 Wing Hang securities without the proper securities, and the company did not receive consent for 26 trades.
Despite these accusations, Goldman Sachs will not pay any fines or face any penalties.
