Facebook’s New Mission Moves Focus to Groups (FB)
Facebook (FB), the social media network responsible for connecting billions of people across the world, has revised its mission statement to emphasize its support for more “meaningful” groups focused on bringing local communities together.
On his Facebook page, CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the company’s new mission is to “give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together,” representing a meaningful shift from its previous pledge – “to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected.”
Facebook Inc (FB) Stock Is Great, It’s Just a Little Husky
Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), along with the other FANG stocks — Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) and Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) — have been on fire this year. FB stock alone is up more than 34% this year — quite the move for a $445 billion company.
Investors shouldn’t overlook Facebook’s dominance — in its business or in the stock price. The Facebook Portfolio
After making perhaps the deal of the decade — purchasing Instagram for just $1 billion in 2012 — Facebook has transformed the platform. It only took Instagram four months to go from 600 million users to 700 million.
Facebook in talks to produce original TV-quality shows: WSJ
Facebook Inc (FB.O) is in talks with Hollywood studios about producing scripted, TV-quality shows, with an aim of launching original programming by late summer, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.

Today's Trading Lesson
Spotting and Trading a Potential Change of Trend
Recognizing and then admitting a trend has changed sounds easy, but we tend to have opinions.
A potential change of trend is where money goes to die. We lose sight of risk/reward in favor of the previous order flow. Figuring out when a trend has ended is only part of the problem. Admitting it and doing something about it are not the same thing.
Whether you use stochastics, RSI, MACD, Fibonacci extensions, pivot points or just plain candlestick patterns, you need to be decisive.
When stocks trade into a range we tend to adapt to the market and change our main trend.
This sounds good in your head but becomes a future trade management problem. If you daily charts are consolidating, it’s not a good idea to switch to a different time frame for a trend.
This chart gives some ideas about committing to your strategy.
On the Tape Today | 6-26-17
ADBE-Adobe Systems resting comfortably after a bullish momentum rally off trend line support. Game planning a breakout today and a profit target of $153. Stop loss on a close below $144. Entry trigger using a $145.80 buy stop.
The bullish trend in the stock market remains in place, literally, it’s stuck in one hell of an annoying range.
And… we are starting to notice a larger number of stocks trading double normal volume. Normally during an uptrend that is a good sign, but we see it happening when stocks closing below the open or even inside days. This price action isn’t clear distribution but it’s something to note in your trading journal.
The NASDAQ showed the strongest bid with a shallow pull-back and a close near the highs. TSLA and AMZN carrying the load over there. Healthcare continue to grind higher with solid momentum plays, I will continue to look for a spot to bid.
Keeping C-Citgroup Inc in my watch list today to see if the stock price can hold the recent breakout into hew highs. Needs to hold the $62 level. Not much help from the rest of its industry, most related stocks are in neutral territory.
One silver lining today will be inside days. Plenty to choose from, so a good chance we see a few trend days.
