Ready for Labor day yet?
This is a tough tape. There is money to be made but you need patience and a solid game plan before the market opens.
The SPY closed near the open and within .26 of the previous days close. Not to mention that it took almost two hours to give us any semblance of a trend. Facebook price action continues to show us indecision or selling on the daily charts.
Not a good short-term indicator for the stock. Yesterday’s best trades were WYNN short and HD long. NLFX gave a a clean entry @11:45.

Day Trading Game Plan: The SPY ETF Chart
SPY produced a doji type candlestick and half the volume from the previous day. The long-term pennant continues to form as price action consolidates. No edge here…still.

Pete’s Notes:
- Neutral tape. Stock specific. Be patient for only great trades.
Charts in Focus
Prior to reporting earnings FB looked poised to make a clean run upwards through $100 and beyond Since the earnings announcement, we see nothing but indecision and selling. It looks like Facebook could trade between $94-98 for a while but I would be surprised if it didn’t break down to the $88 area. Price and volume don’t lie.
Long-term I think the stock is a great company and miles ahead of the competition. Please keep in mind we are talking about this quarter of earnings.
